Happy To Be Stuck in T.R.A.F.F.I.C.

The .CLUB team is participating in the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference today and tomorrow at the Ritz-Carlton Ft. Lauderdale.  T.R.A.F.F.I.C. is a leading conference for the domain investor industry, and the packed schedule includes sessions focused on the ins and outs of buying and selling domain names, as well as an actual live domain auction.

This morning, I had the opportunity to speak on a panel billed as the main event: “gTLD Mania – Team Schwartz vs. Team Schilling in a Tag Team Debate about the future.”  It was an energetic, at times heated, discussion about the future of the Internet, the impact of the introduction of some 700 new generic domain extensions, and the world according to .com…  It was a lot of fun, and hopefully presented a lot of thought provoking insights into what may (and may not) happen as the Internet namespace expands dramatically.  I was honored to sit alongside industry luminaries including Rick Schwartz , T.R.A.F.F.I.C. co-founder; Lonnie Borck, B52 Media (collectively “Team Schwartz”) and Frank Schilling, Uniregistry; Monte Cahn, Right of the Dot;  and Tim Johnson, .KIWI (along with me, collectively “Team Schilling.”)

The panel discussion was recorded on video and when it is released by T.R.A.F.F.I.C. I will add a link to it here.

The Internet namespace is a big and complex ecosystem, and domain investors play an important role.  It was great to see .CLUB embraced by the community at T.R.A.F.F.I.C.   Thanks to Rick and his partner Howard Neu for including me in a great panel discussion.
