This weekend the .CLUB team had a super time at the TechCrunch Disrupt NY Hackathon, held at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The 24 hour hackathon had approximately 650 engineers and designers competing for the $5,000 top prize.
We partnered with our friends at Domain.com to offer all the hackathon participants a free .club domain and hosting. From first time participants to regular coders, everyone worked
throughout the night to build something of meaning to impress fellow coders, judges, and sponsor companies.

It was a great event for .CLUB with nearly 1/3 of all projects (29 of the 93 project entries) using a .CLUB domain for their project, far more than any other single extension in attendance.
.CLUB offered a $5,000 prize for the best use of .CLUB domain within a project. Our winner was Homecookers.club.
It was a tough choice as there were some very cool .CLUB entries from TheGastro.club to Speaky.club to TheAfterSchool.club to TheHelpingHand.club, to the creativeTrashyRat.club, and many others.
Even the winner of the Hackathon, AlexaSite – a voice activated website builder, used a .CLUB site as the site they build for their winning demo…
You can see all the presentations (and get a scope of the .CLUB impact on the event) here.
Congrats again to the team behind HomeCookers.club, and to all the hackathon participants.
